Induction
Here are a few things you should know before you start with us.
Take your time to watch the videos and read the policies - they will all help you settle in with us as quickly as possible.
Our Centre Philosophy
It’s so important that our Centre Philosophy aligns with your personal philosophy. Our Centre Philosophy guides all that we do in our service from the way we interact with and support each other to the way we interact and support our children and their families.
STEP 1: Read our Centre Philosophy. We will get you to sign a copy of this on your first day to confirm you have read and understood it.
Dress Code
For your first days, come dressed in a navy blue or black plain t-shirt, navy blue or black long pants, leggings or shorts and also wear comfortable enclosed shoes. A good pair of sneakers to support your feet are ideal!
Don’t forget to bring a brimmed hat of your choice to wear outside. Ensure you remove any jewellery that might pose a hazard (e.g. loop earrings) and cover any controversial tattoos.
Communication & Rosters
Predominantly communication amongst our team members is through our Slack App but you will also find that we communicate through face to face discussions, text & email correspondence, and by other such as staff meetings. You will locate your roster on the Slack App under the #roster channel.
STEP 4: Download the Slack App onto your mobile. We will send you an invitation so you can log into our team space.
Staff Meetings & Events
We don’t hold many staff meetings and events so when we do, you should be making an effort to attend. If you can’t attend for some reason, please let one of our directors know.
Majority of the time however, we communicate primarily on Slack or via face to face conversations - we find that this is the best way to relay information in a timely and efficient way.

Your philosophy is made up of your strong beliefs and your pedagogy (which is your approach to teaching). We want to understand you better and will share this with our team and our families so they can get to know you better.

Code of Conduct
We have a code of conduct that governs with how all stakeholders should conduct themselves and interact with others.
STEP 3: Read our Code of Conduct. We will get you to sign a copy of this on your first day to confirm you have read and understood it.
Time Sheets & Pay Cycle
Please ensure you fill in your Time Sheet at the start and end of your shift. Please ensure you name and date your Time Sheet. Our pay cycle is fortnightly and we operate in 15 minute increments. For example, if you are no longer needed in ratio at 4.05pm, you should be asking a director or Educational Leader what other jobs you can do for 10 mins and sign off at 4.15pm. Delivery & Collection of Children (& Students & Visitors)
It is important that you have a detailed understanding of our delivery and collection process to ensure you are implementing the correct procedure. You must NEVER let anyone inside of the service that you do not know. Always speak to them at the door and ask them politely to wait outside whilst you go and get your Nominated Supervisor. It is important that the person is not left inside the service at reception waiting.
